Group of women are laying out colourful wool tops into a large spiral in preparation for felting a communal rug

Ah adulthood. It's a tangled journey in our time, with many joys, burdens and responsibilities. Art provides us with a way to relax, a way to connect, a way to remember our playful self. Stepping sideways into our more holistic brain can help integrate information and experiences. Connecting with natural materials connects us to Land, to Planet, to the greater web of life. And it's fun. Creative fun, in community, makes the journey far more satisfying.

Small Group Workshops

A small group of participants - usually up to 6 - gather in a studio space and immerse in the playfulness of felting a hat or a scarf (for instance) or possibly eco-dyeing. Workshops are offered at Butterfly Studio in Christmas Hills, or can be arranged in another location if you have at least 3 people interested and a venue. Email Out of the Pouch with a request to be put on our Newsletter list so you hear about upcoming events or Like our Facebook Page.

Art for the   Wisdom Years

A favourite workshop. Bringing simple felted flower-making to a group of participants in their elder years, hearing their stories, watching hands play with colour and something playful, fun, lovely emerge. This workshop can also step sideways into seasonal celebrations such as making felted ornaments at Christmas, or colourful place-mats at Easter. No experience is necessary and different levels of dexterity can be cared for.

Business & Conferences

A pop up art break-away space at a conference. A business team that wants to go lateral, relax and bond. An end-of-year felting extravaganza. Whether it's a simple opportunity to get hands into wool and make a ball or a cord, or a playful exploration of hat making, or a communal wall hanging - felting is magic. It calms the nervous system, gets the play-juices flowing, helps to integrate information... and is fun. Which is seriously important.
